Darren Moore feels the game against Gillingham this weekend is a good opportunity for his side to progress further in the Emirates FA Cup.

Rovers travel to Priestfield Stadium looking to make it into the third round of the competition for the third season in a row.

He said: “We’re looking forward to the game and I’m sure both teams will see it as a good chance to get further in the competition.

“We’ll travel down on Saturday and hopefully the journey will be a little bit smoother than it would have done if we were going on a Friday afternoon.

“We’re going to have to be well rehearsed in what we’re trying to do as Steve Evans will have a really strong squad to pick from.”

The two sides drew 1-1 in Sky Bet League One on the opening day of the season, and Moore feels Sunday’s tie will be a good marker for his side.

He added: “We battled to a 1-1 draw at the start of the season and both teams have had a style of play that they have implemented as the season has gone on.

“I see positive signs with how far we’ve come since that game and the players are understanding what I want from them.

“There is always an element of being pleased with where we’re at but always wanting to be better at the same time.”
