Moore takes positives from Wycombe defeat

24 November 2019

Darren Moore says his side showed their character in the 1-0 defeat to Wycombe Wanderers in Sky Bet League One.

Joe Jacobson’s injury-time penalty denied Rovers a point after playing the majority of the second-half with 10 men after Tom Anderson’s red card.

He said: “To lose the game in those circumstances is always disappointing, the referee made his decision and we have to move on from that.

“The main thing I will look at from the game is our energy and commitment shown with 10 men for more than 40 minutes.

“The players put so much into the game and we feel hard done to not to come away with something but that’s football.”

Having remained solid for the most-part of the 90 minutes, Moore believes there were positives to be taken.

He added: “Our concentration levels slipped for a split second and that has cost us, they are top of the table for a reason and they are relentless with what they do.

“We will look at the situation we found ourselves in and use that to make sure we’re better when we face a similar game in the future.

“They picked a team to nullify and stop us from doing our thing and we have to take that as a compliment in terms of our ability."
