Rovers nominated for two FSA awards

12 November 2019

Rovers chief executive Gavin Baldwin is pleased to see the club’s efforts recognised with nominations for best Away Day of the Year and the Supporter Engagement Award by the Football Supporters’ Association ahead of the FSA Awards 2019.

The Football Supporters’ Association hold the ceremony every year to celebrate the best of football across a range of categories.

Gavin said: “This is great recognition of all the hard work that is put in by staff here at Rovers and Club Doncaster Foundation.

“We pride ourselves on the two areas we have been shortlisted in - we have led the way in fan engagement which is really meaningful, which we’ve seen with great participation our most recent In Rovers We Trust survey which highlights how we’ve embedded it into our culture.

“And we see real value in being a welcoming club to travelling supporters: we want everything about their experience to be fantastic, with the exception of the result, so they want to keep coming back.”

Supporters create the shortlists – a full list of which can be found on the FSA website – for the awards, with the overall winners in both categories Rovers are nominated in decided by a judging panel. The overall winners will be announced at the FSA Awards ceremony on Monday December 16.

Rovers are nominated alongside Accrington Stanley, Arsenal, Cardiff City, Leicester City, and Wigan Athletic for the Away Day of the Year award.

The Supporter Engagement Award shortlist includes Grimsby Town, Middlesbrough, Reading, Sunderland, and Wolverhampton Wanderers as well as Rovers.
