Rovers U18s head to Fleetwood in Youth Alliance Cup

Rovers U18s head to Fleetwood Town on Saturday for the next game in the Youth Alliance Cup.

Fleetwood currently sit top of the group having won both of their opening matches while Rovers sit second with two wins and one defeat. A win for Rovers would throw the Group A wide open with virtually every team still fighting for the top spot.

Rovers face an uphill battle, however, as The Fisherman will be high in confidence having won every game they’ve played so far this season.

Fleetwood have earned maximum points in the league, beaten Mansfield Town and Carlisle United in the Youth Alliance Cup, while also qualifying for the FA Youth Cup third round following victories over Halifax Town and Walsall.

There are five groups in total and each team who finishes top will qualify automatically for the next round. Three of the five teams who finish second will qualify based on their records across the group games.
