The Foundation offers so many different activities from preschool to active activities for the elderly, we are never short of our staff and participants coming up with new ideas to have enjoy life.  

An opportunity has arisen for a motivated  individual to join the team in the role Community Coach on a full time basis. Whilst this will vary in respect of the programme brief, the majority of the work for this role will be planning and delivering football, rugby, and multi-sport sessions within schools, and pre-arranged engagement sessions throughout the county.

The successful applicant will be representing Club Doncaster at every session they plan, attend and review. We are looking for someone who delivers sessions with enthusiasm, inclusivity, and innovation.  Your day to day work will include coaching a wide variety of ages, abilities and children who vary in their interest in sport. After sessions the coach will play a key part in the  developing and maintaining key links with all persons who come into contact with the department, from the participants themselves to parents and head teachers.

The successful applicant ideally should have previous knowledge and experience of working within an educational sports environment, and have experience of planning sessions that will engage all levels of participants. A good level of education and appropriate experience and qualifications in level II sports coaching is essential to this post, it would be advantageous to have completed a further educational qualification such as AFPE.  

All applicants should be comfortable liaising with a wide variety of audiences, and able to liaise with external and internal partners to ensure we can give our participants students the best possible sessions during their time with us.

Main duties will include:

  • Undertake the delivery of the curriculum and agreed coaching protocol for each partner , delivering sessions that meet and exceed national level II NGB status
  • Supporting the Management team to plan, develop, and maintain an efficient schools and activity coaching programme
  • Completing appropriate internal monitoring systems and associated administration

Contributing to the delivery of specific projects under the departments remit

  • To work closely with partnership organisations, to maintain good relationships and collaborative working practices
  • To work with colleagues throughout Club Doncaster to extend knowledge and skills in order to identify and develop best practice
  • Dealing with enquiries and general day-to-day liaison with customers, colleagues and partners
