Joe Wright says Rovers will be ready for a battle when they travel to AFC Wimbledon on Saturday.

Rovers had their best FA Cup run in 66 years last season and were one of two League One teams who made it to the competition’s fifth round – the other team was the Dons.

“I’d love to be part of a team that is as successful as we were last season,” said Wright.

“I imagine Saturday will be a tough game. It will be direct because the weather conditions will warrant that but we’ll be ready for a battle.”

Wright has been sidelined for much of the early part of the season through injury but says he’s looking forward to stepping into the new style of play that Moore has implemented.

“I’m a person that doesn’t like sitting on the bench – I’m always desperate to play so I’ve had to be patient,” Wright added.

“We’re working on playing under pressure. We work on playing the ball out from the back and on the whole this season, we’ve done that really well.

“I like to think I’m comfortable on the ball so I’d love to play in that.”
