Determined Ennis is gunning for goals

13 October 2019

Niall Ennis believes Rovers can use their frustration from defeat at Oxford to help them get back to winning ways sooner rather than later.

Darren Moore’s side were beaten at the Kassam Stadium, and Ennis says goals at key times in the game hurt them.

He said: “It was a frustrating game, we got in the right positions a few times it was just a case of making the wrong decisions.

“They were on top for most of the first-half so if we’d gone in at 0-0 then I think the pressure would have been on them. We conceded either side of half-time which is deflating but the key now is to show a response and get a win soon.”

Ennis came off the bench to make his return from a hamstring injury, and says he was itching to get on and make an impact.

He added: “I was fit enough to be on the bench and come on so it’s good progress for me, we’ve got a week now before the next game so hopefully I can be involved again.

“Injuries happen in football and it is frustrating but you just have to get on with it and come back stronger.”
