Moore believes Man United U21s will provide a good test

28 October 2019

Darren Moore believes going up against Manchester United U21s in the Trophy will be a good test for his side.

Rovers go into the final group stage game knowing a win should see them progress, and Moore says they are going up against a technically gifted team.

He said: “We’ve got virtually a full-strength squad to pick from so we’ll have a look at it and select a team we feel can go and win the game.

"We’ve planned in the same amount of detail as we would for any of our league fixtures, they are a good team who like to pass the ball.

“They play some good football and use the angles available to hurt teams, it’s an attacking brand that we will have to deal with.”

After a break between games following the postponement of Saturday’s game at Tranmere, Moore says his players are fresh and raring to go.

He added: “We want to win every game that we play and this one is no different to that, we lost in the Carabao Cup first round so this competition is important to us.

“We’re looking forward to the game and I think it is a good thing that we know what we have to do to get through.”
