Officials confirmed for Portsmouth

2 October 2019

Andy Haines will be the man in-charge when Rovers host Portsmouth on Saturday.

The Tyne and Wear-based official will travel to the Keepmoat Stadium for his tenth match of the 2019/20 campaign. He has so far awarded 24 yellow cards and two reds.

Haines took charge of one Rovers league match last season – interestingly, this was also at home to Pompey. That match ended 0-0 but a red card to Marko Marosi – after Rovers had used all their substitutions - meant that Ben Whiteman saw out the closing minutes in the net.  Haines awarded five yellow cards in that match, Whiteman and Herbie Kane were booked from Rovers.

Last season, he also took charge of Rovers’ 4-2 defeat to Notts County in the Checkatrade Trophy (now Leasing.com Trophy).

On Saturday, Haines will be assisted by Simon Clayton and Craig Taylor. Abbas Khan is the fourth official.
