Thomas pleased to make Rovers debut

10 October 2019

Kwame Thomas says it was a good feeling to make his Rovers debut in the Leasing.com Trophy game at Rotherham United.

The striker provided an assist for Kieran Sadlier’s first-half strike at the AESSEAL New York Stadium and was pleased with his overall display.

He said: “It was a tough game in spells, we tried to play on the counter attack and that is where our first goal came from.

“It was brilliant to be back out on the pitch, I was happy to be involved and 75 minutes for myself will be really beneficial.

“As the weeks and matches go by, I should get fitter and sharper which will mean I will improve as a player.”

With his presence giving Rovers something to aim for up top, Thomas believes he brings something different to Darren Moore’s side.

He added: “We’re a good passing team and I’m a little bit different in terms of what I offer and that means we can mix it up.

“I can help with the physicality of games which allows our players to get the ball down and then put the ball in the box for me to get on the end of.”
