Ben Whiteman believes Darren Moore and the rest of the Rovers coaching staff deserve credit for the way they have set the team up this season.
Moore’s side have lost just three of their 12 league games to date, and Whiteman says that is a result of being well drilled on their roles and responsibilities.
He said: “I think as a group we trust each other, the Oxford game was a blip and we quickly got it out of our minds and moved on.
“We’ve got a lot of good players and we’ve shown that with a lot of our performances so far this season.
“I’ve said it before the manager and his coaching staff are outstanding with the way they prepare us for games.”
With a trip to Southend coming up on Tuesday night, the captain says Rovers will have to be at their best to come away with three points.
He added: “It’s always a tough place to go, we went there on the opening day of last season and we had to really battle through it.
“They haven’t got a manager at the minute so their players will try and impress, every game in this division is a tough one but hopefully we can get the win.”
