Donny Dog testimonial season announced

19 September 2019

After 20 years loyal service to Doncaster Rovers FC, 'fans' best friend', Donny Dog, has been granted a testimonial season whereby a 'series of silly events' will take place across the 2019/20 season at DRFC home games and more.

Rovers mascot Donny Dog has seen Rovers from Belle Vue to the Keepmoat and led out teams loyally from League Two to the Championship making lots of friends across football along the way.

A firm fan favourite, Donny Dog has often been seen visiting local schools and events across the years and has graduated from a basket behind the Pop Stand to his very own Kennel at the Keepmoat.

With quite the CV, Donny has his very own 'Deli' www.donnysdeli.co.uk where he hand delivers the food to his young customers at halftime on matchdays, but only after he has shown his skills in the goal as the number one shot-stopper against junior strikers from local squads.

Donny's skills don't end on the pitch though, he is quite the media mogul as he edits his own magazine, Donny Kicks, and 2019 has seen him launch his very own YouTube series, DDTV and his very own website at www.roversfamily.co.uk.

Celebrations for the much-loved mascot begin on Saturday 21 September as DRFC face Peterborough United in SkyBet League One. To kick off #DD20 , at half time, Donny and his friend 'Peter Burrow' will challenge youngsters from the DRFC and PUFC U11's academy sides to a 'Silly Soccer Relay Race' around the pitch - who will win? and will it all go to plan? See you there and see for yourselves!
