Darren Moore is looking forward to going up against his former manager Mark Robins when Rovers take on Coventry City this weekend.
Moore worked with Robins during his time at Barnsley, and has been impressed with the job he’s done at the Sky Blues.
He said: “It doesn’t surprise me how long Mark has been in the game as a manager, he wants to get the ball down and play which is an attractive trait to have.
“I knew from working with him at Barnsley that he would do well, we were deemed to be one of the smaller teams in the Championship but picked up a lot of impressive wins.
“They’ve shown how good they are by remaining unbeaten up to now, they carry a real goal threat but we feel we’re capable of getting a positive result.”
After just one defeat in their opening eight league games, Moore feels his team are continuing to improve as the season goes on.
He added: “We’re going into the game on the back of a very good team performance, we’re getting stronger each week and hopefully that continues.
“We take everything game by game and we’re looking to build on a solid start, setting points targets can help but we’re not looking too far ahead.”
