Moore: Rovers looking forward to tough test

19 September 2019

Darren Moore says he and his team are looking forward to another tough test when they welcome Peterborough United on Saturday.

Peterborough are currently top of the form table with five wins and a draw in their last six games scoring 19 and conceding just two.

“It’s a game we’ll look forward to but it’s a game we’ll have to be at our absolute best to come away with a result,” said Moore.

“Peterborough have had a great start to the season, they’re scoring goals and have a lot of good attacking players. They also have a lot of players that know their way around this league so it bodes well for another exciting game between two teams who like to play on the front foot.

“You put all those ingredients in the melting pot and it’ll produce a good game at the Keepmoat Stadium.”

Rovers will need to be aware of the attacking pair of Ivan Toney and Mohamed Eisa who have bagged 14 goals between them so far this season.

“We’ve faced a few teams with attacking process, we’ve been to Ipswich and hosted Rotherham and Lincoln,” added Moore.

“Defensively, you’ve got to be good in this league because the attackers are a real go threat and strikers in this league come no bigger than the guys at Peterborough.”
