Scott Oldham has been appointed as the referee for Tuesday night's game against Lincoln City in the Leasing.com Trophy.
He has handed out 11 yellow cards this season across all competitions but is yet to show red.
The last game he managed involving Rovers was a 3-2 win over Rochdale last October and handed five yellow cards in the process.
That remains the only game he has officiated involving the club since he joined the National List of Referees in August 2017.
He will be assisted on the lines by Matthew Smith and Stephen Wade while Matthew Jones will assume the position as fourth official.
