PROGRAMME | Taylor talks Rovers belief

7 September 2019

Jon Taylor says the belief in the Rovers changing room will help the side when they face rivals Rotherham United on Saturday.

“The way the lads play means that the crowd are always on the edge of their seats, and I can see myself scoring a lot of goals in this team,” he said.

“We’ve got a never say die attitude within the group and there is a genuine belief that we can score a goal at any time of a game.

“We’ve got a lot of good footballers here and the manager is keen to encourage that we keep trying to play good attacking football.”

Taylor knows all about the rivalry between Rovers and the Millers moving from Rotherham to Doncaster in the summer.

“I know what the rivalry is about and it’s going to be exciting, I’m not sure what reception I’m going to get,” he added.

“Anyone who knows me will know that I will thrive on that, I love big games and it’s what every player is in the game for.

“It will be an exciting game and neither team will be holding back, they will come here to beat us and we’ll be trying to do the same to them.”
