PROGRAMME | Sadlier ready for Posh test

20 September 2019

Kieran Sadlier feels he has a point to prove when he faces former club Peterborough United on Saturday.

Having left Posh in 2016 without being able to make an impact in the team, Sadlier made a big name for himself in the League of Ireland before returning to the EFL when he signed for Rovers in December 2018. He’s had a good nine months in English football which earned him a place in the Irish provisional squad but a memory that stands out was scoring the final goal in Rovers 3-1 win over the Posh in February last season.

“I probably won’t get the best reception from the Peterborough fans after celebrating in front of them last season but that’s all part of the fun in football,” he says.

“That sort of thing is all part of the game and I don’t mind the stick I get on social media, it’s one of those things you just have to laugh off.

“Both teams have had some good battles over the years and obviously a couple of managers and players have been at both clubs.

“I’m looking forward to it, I know one or two of the boys there which again adds to the occasion for all of us.”

Read the full interview in the matchday programme. Also in the programme is a junior pull out, history of Rovers managers, an update from the commercial team and the foundation and some words for the Official Supporters Club. Programmes can be picked up from around the ground for £3.
