Sadlier says Rovers confidence is high

27 September 2019

Kieran Sadlier says the Rovers squad feel they are capable of beating any team in Sky Bet League One ahead of the trip to Coventry City this weekend.

With four wins from their past six league games, Rovers are just outside the play-off places with a game in hand.

Sadlier said: “It’s been a good start to the season both personally and as a team, I set myself a target to score more goals and I’ve managed to get a few under my belt.

“We’ve got a great set of lads and we’ve had that during my time here, the new signings have come in and adapted to that.

“The manager and his assistant and implemented their ideas and we’ve all taken them on board which has shown on the pitch.”

After dropping out of the starting XI earlier in September, Sadlier has worked his way back in and scored against former club Peterborough United last time out.

He added: “I had a couple of games out of the team but then came back in and feel I have made an impact since then.

“I was disappointed to drop out of the team because I felt I was doing well, but it just made me work even harder to get back in.

“We’ve got good players going forward and it is always healthy for any player to have strong competition for places.”
