Rovers U11s had a busy Saturday hosting the second annual John Chappell Trophy in the morning and taking part in a DD20 relay race at half-time during the first team’s match against Peterborough United.
DD20 was launched last week with the club announcing that Donny Dog was to have a testimonial year following 20 years of service.
To launch the “season of silly events”, Donny Dog invited 20 young Rovers fans to take part in the official pre-season photoshoot and he kicked off the events on Saturday with a relay against the Posh’s Peter Burrow.
With the help of the U11 Academy teams from both Rovers and Peterborough, the two mascots organised a chaotic relay race around the pitch at half-time with both sides being cheered on by their respective fans.
