Rovers U11s will compete in the John Chappell Trophy on Saturday September 21.
The John Chappell Trophy is a tournament held at the Club Doncaster Sports Park in memory of Rovers fan John Chappell who was a big supporter of Rovers Academy. This will be the second time that Rovers Academy have hosted this event with the intention of improving and growing the tournament over the coming seasons.
The tournament attracts an excellent standard of teams from across England and offers the U11s a chance to play against teams that they would not normally face as part of the games programme.
This year’s tournament will feature Academy teams from Manchester City, Hull City, Barnsley, Sheffield United, Sheffield Wednesday and Peterborough United.
The tournament will take place ahead of Rovers’ first team match against the Posh.
