Foundation takes Kicks Programme online

8 April 2020

The team from the Foundation’s Premier League kicks programme have been creating football drills for young fans to try in their gardens as they take their free football sessions online.

Kicks coach Josh Bucknall has been filming the drills in his garden and the team have been releasing one drill every morning one their facebook page for young players to have a go at at home.

Sport development officer Mark Cooper said: “With these unprecedented times and everyone being asked to stay at home, we wanted to try and find a way to keep delivering Kicks sessions and give our participants and other children the chance to keep improving and practicing their football skills.

“We are used to going out into the community and delivering drills like the ones you will see across social media every day and now we’ll be delivering the sessions online - setting challenges, and asking young people to get involved.

“Our coach Josh has been demonstrating the drills and we’re looking forward to seeing how young girls and boys from across Doncaster get on.”

The Premier League Kicks Programme provides free football sessions around Doncaster and then uses the power of football to help support its participants with life skills, whether that be helping people get apprenticeships, go to college, or get ready for working life.
