Mike Turner born April 2 1976

Stafford-born Mike was with West Bromwich Albion as a youngster but got his first opportunity in the professional game in 1998 after joining Barnsley from Bilston Town.

In October 2000 he joined Rovers, then in the Football Conference, on loan and made his debut in a 1-0 home win over Dagenham & Redbridge, scoring a week later in a 3-0 win at Hayes.

In January 2001 he was released by Barnsley and signed for Rovers until the end of the season. Despite scoring five goals in 25 senior appearances for Rovers he was not offered a new deal and moved on to Oxfordshire-based team Henley Town.
