Jan Budtz born on April 20, 1979

Danish-born goalkeeper Jan was signed from FC Nordsjælland in the summer of 2005 to provide cover for Andy Warrington.

He made his debut in dramatic circumstances in September 2005 in a League Cup second round tie against Manchester City. Warrington sustained a broken leg and Jan replaced him in goal, saving two of three penalties as Rovers won the shoot-out.

He helped Rovers to progress to the Quarter-Finals of the League Cup that season but lost his place in the League side to new signing Alan Blayney. In 2006-07 he struggled to claim a regular place and had a loan spell with Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers.

In July 2007 he was transferred to Hartlepool United, his Rovers record being 34 senior appearances. He has enjoyed a lengthy career in non-League football and is currently playing for Rossington Main. In 2013 he began working for Club Doncaster Foundation, where he is currently employed.
