Rovers fan Katy explains why the quiet rooms are so important

2 April 2020

Rovers introduced a quiet room to the Keepmoat Stadium in August 2018 thanks to a suggestion by life-long fan Katy Bateman – who has autism – at a regular fans’ panel.

The introduction of the facility garnered national interest as Rovers became the first club outside the top two tiers and the fourth overall to include one in their stadium.

The room meant that people with Autism could manage condition better while at matches and – as a result – attend more games.

It was a game changing for Katy who explains in this video that she had never thought attending a football match would be possible for her but has since become a season membership holder.
