Tom Anderson was pleased to get another win in pre-season as Rovers beat Bradford City 4-3 at Valley Parade.
The centre-back played the first 45 minutes alongside Danny Amos, Brad Halliday, Louis Jones, and Ben Blythe and was pleased to go into the break without conceding.
“It was good. I played the first half and we won that 1-0 so it’s good on that basis,” said Anderson.
“As a defender, you don’t want to concede no matter what game it is.
“It’s great to have two wins. You start as you mean to go on. Even though it’s pre-season you want to get into good habits early by winning games and then you can take that into the season.”
Manager Darren Moore said that the first two match of pre-season were as much about shaking off the rustiness of a long off-season as they were about winning, and Anderson admitted it was great to be back playing football again.
“Obviously the last league game was MK Dons on March 7 so getting game time is vital,” he added.
“It’s going to take a bit of time to get going again so it’s good to get another 45 minutes under the belt.
“I was chomping at the bit to get back. I just wanted to get back in and start doing something because it’s been a long time with us not being in. I think all of the lads are just ready and raring to go.”
