Rovers will travel to Ewood Park on Saturday to take on Blackburn Rovers in the Carabao Cup first round.
The majority of the first round will be played on September 5, but due to several of Blackburn’s side being called up for the international break and the second round of matches due to take place on September 15 the only option was to bring the tie forward.
Brad Halliday says that, despite coming sooner than expected, Rovers are looking forward to their first competitive game in five months.
Halliday says that despite coming sooner than expected, the team are looking forward to Saturday.
“I’m looking forward to Saturday,” he said
“I think it’s come sooner that we obviously all expected but we’re all looking forward to getting back out there and getting back to the matchday feeling.
“Obviously it will be strange – like the first few games – with no fans being there but we’re just building towards that and we’re all building to that and looking forward to it.”
