Richards: Easy decision to join Rovers

26 August 2020

Taylor Richards says the decision to join Rovers was an easy one to make after he arrived on a season-long loan deal from Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion.

The 19-year-old believes working with manager Darren Moore will help him to improve his game during the 2020/21 campaign.

He said: “I’m delighted to be able to work with Darren, it’s a big opportunity for me to show what I can do at this level.

“The manager has a reputation of developing young players like myself, so that was part of my thinking when deciding to come here.

“From the sounds of it some of the boys who were here on loan last season did really well and impressed so I’m hoping to replicate that.”

After months of keeping himself fit prior to joining Rovers, Richards is ready to hit the ground running as the competitive season gets underway this weekend.

He added: “I’ve been training for the past few months with Brighton when they were playing in the Premier League so my fitness levels are good.

“Everyone is working hard to get back to the level they were before, the hard work has been going on behind the scenes for a while.

“The competitive season starts on Saturday and I’m really excited to get going, the games are going to come around thick and fast and we need to be ready for them.”

Richards is eligible to make his Rovers debut against Blackburn Rovers in the Carabao Cup this weekend, and fans can purchase iFollow match passes for just £10. Click here to subscribe now.
