Club Doncaster cares

27 December 2020

December is a time for giving and with Christmas looking so different in 2020, Club Doncaster have been supporting one another and the community through a difficult time.

Staff and players from across the whole Club Doncaster family delivered 80 hampers to the most vulnerable people in Doncaster as part of Club Doncaster Foundation’s tackling loneliness project. The project has reached more than 700 isolated people across the borough in the past few months.

Supporters helped purchase more than 200 teddy bears, not only raising money for our club but also providing Christmas gifts to children through new partner Hallam FM’s project Mission Christmas.

Our fans have once again come together to help provide selection boxes and donate further monies to help families in poverty over Christmas and the staff at Club Doncaster donated the monies that would usually have been spent on a Christmas party to the Foundation to support their incredible work across the borough.

The Belles chose to forgo their traditional Secret Santa this season and instead pooled their resources and raised £400 which they used to purchase items for the Trussell Trust foodbank delivering food to people who need it in Doncaster.

The Rovers players donated their surplus fines money by purchasing gifts for those around them including a new bike for one of the cleaners, a new camera for the Doncaster Rovers Belles, and providing donations towards the wedding of one staff member and personal dreams and activities of other staff.
