John looking forward to atmosphere at Northampton

4 December 2020

Cameron John is looking forward to having fans in the stadium when Rovers take on Northampton Town this weekend.

The game at Sixfields will have 1,500 home supporters in attendance, and John believes having an atmosphere there will bring out the best in the team.

He said: “I’m expecting a tough game, they will be direct and put us under pressure but with the quality we’ve got in the team there is no reason why we can’t go there and get a result.

“With the fans being in it will feel different and we’re all looking forward to having a bit of atmosphere in the ground.

“We had it at Charlton earlier in the season and we’ll look to do the same as we did there in terms of taking the game away from the opposition.”

The 21-year-old has played in all but one Sky Bet League One game for Rovers this season, and says he’s worked hard to get used to a new position.

He added: “I’ve been working hard on the roles and responsibilities of playing at left-back and getting used to doing that on a more regular basis.

“All the defenders try and learn off of each other so it’s been nice to talk to Reece James and Brad Halliday about how they do things.”
