Darren Moore is expecting a reaction from his side when they take on Accrington Stanley in Sky Bet League One on Boxing Day.
Rovers’ four-game winning run was ended on Tuesday night after a 1-0 defeat to Shrewsbury Town at the Keepmoat Stadium.
He said: “We have to pick ourselves up but the mentality of the group has been good when we’ve had setbacks in the past.
“Every game gives us an opportunity to learn and we have spent the time leading up to the next game working on areas of our game.
“We know that teams will make it difficult for us with the way we play, and we have to find ways around it.”
Saturday’s opponents are one of the division’s form sides after tasting defeat just once in their past 10 fixtures, and Moore has been impressed by Stanley this season.
He added: “We’re going up against a team who have been in great form recently and they play on the front foot no matter the opposition.
“The way they’ve gone about their business this season shows their intent in terms of how they’ve taken teams on.
“They’re managed by John Coleman who knows this level really well, so we have to dust ourselves down and be ready.”
