Moore ready for in-form Shrewsbury

22 December 2020

Darren Moore says Rovers will go up against one of the division’s form sides when they take on Shrewsbury Town on Tuesday night.

The Shrews are unbeaten in their past five league games, and the manager is expecting a close contest at the Keepmoat Stadium.

He said: “They are a team bang in form and have a manager who has plenty of experience at League One level.

“The players there are showing what they’re about and the last couple of results for them have been impressive.

“They’ve had draws against Charlton and Accrington, and then gone and beaten Hull and Lincoln so we know it will be a tough game.”

A win on Tuesday would take Rovers top of the table at Christmas, but Moore is not thinking too much about that at present.

He added: “I can understand the buzz from the fans and around the town about our recent form, their love and support is there for all to see.

“Hopefully the fact that we’re taking it one game at a time shows how focused we are on picking up more good results.”
