Okenabirhie pleased to make an impact

20 December 2020

Fejiri Okenabirhie was pleased to play his part in the win over Burton Albion after opening the scoring at the Pirelli Stadium.

The No.9 set Rovers on their way to a fourth straight win in Sky Bet League One by firing home with eight minutes gone.

He said: “The first goal was what we’re about, we played through the lines and I was there to finish Cam’s cross into the box.

“We moved the ball quickly which we work on in training, I knew that if I got in the right position then I had a chance of scoring.

“As a striker my job is to be in the middle and get on the end of things, it was a great ball in and it’s a great feeling to score.”

After making his first league start since the start of December, Okenabirhie says he was keen to put in a good display.

He added: “I’m always looking to make an impact and help the team get results, we all need to be ready when we’re called upon.

“I try to give my all and be an outlet, the more I can do that the more success we can have as a forward line.”
