Sims: we're all frustrated

3 December 2020

Josh Sims says the Rovers dressing room was a frustrated one after the 2-1 defeat to Hull City in Sky Bet League One.

Tom Eaves’ late strike secured the win for the Tigers, and Sims felt his side could have taken something from it.

He said: “Probably from the 60th minute we began to get a foothold in the game and played some really good football.

“When the goal came I thought we were going to get another one, so it’s disappointing not to take anything from the game.

“First-half it was tough and as a team we knew we needed to get higher up the pitch to try and create more chances.”

With another game coming up against Northampton Town on Saturday, Sims says the focus will be on recovery between now and then.

He added: “We’ve got to try and take the positives with the way we played in patches, and take that into the game against Northampton.

“There are games coming up so quickly at the minute and I’m sure the manager will have a plan depending on which players recover quickest before the weekend.”
