Cameron John believes playing in different positions is helping to develop him as a player during his loan spell with Rovers.
The 20-year-old has featured at centre-half and left-back so far this season, and has enjoyed getting the game-time under his belt.
He said: “I’ve played in a couple of different positions and I feel I have adapted well to that, hopefully I can help the team as much as possible wherever I play.
“I’ve played a lot more than I was expecting to and as a loan player I couldn’t have asked for since I came here.
“Even though we’ve changed systems our principles have remained the same and we want to play the right way.”
Rovers face bottom of the table Bolton Wanderers at the Keepmoat Stadium on Tuesday night, and John says they won’t be taking anything for granted as they look to close the gap on the play-off places.
He added: “You can’t take any team lightly in this division, whether they’re top or bottom every game will be difficult.
“They will come with a game plan and make it tough for us, but we’re preparing well and hopefully we can get the win.”
