Moore expects a good contest

7 February 2020

Darren Moore believes Saturday’s match against Rochdale will require his side to show different qualities to those displayed in Tuesday evening’s victory over Tranmere Rovers.

The Dale currently sit 18th in Sky Bet League One but have an impressive playing style which has seen them register impressive results such as a 1-0 away win over league-leaders Rotherham United.

“We know it’s going to be a tough game,” said Moore.

“They’ll ask questions with the style that they play and it all bodes well for a good footballing match here on Saturday.

“They’ve got wonderful rotation and quality in midfield. It will be a very different game to the one on Tuesday night but in terms of the challenge, it’s one we look forward to.

“We know we’re going to have to be at our best when we go up against them.”

Moore was also quick to praise visiting manager Brian Barry-Murphy who he believes has created a good ethos at the club.

“I think Brian has done a great job there. The mind-set of Rochdale is excellent,” he added.

“They nurture and develop young players and they have a clear DNA and that’s credit to what he and his staff have brought to the football club.

“The way they play is very pleasing on the eye to see, but he’s backing that up with results. So credit to him and his staff.”
