Jacob Ramsey hit the ground running at Rovers with a dream debut at Tranmere, but five games into his loan spell, he already feels he has learned a lot.

Ramsey says each match has provided a different test, and he’s enjoying the challenge.

“I’m loving it here – I think I’ve made five appearances now so I’m just looking to make more appearances,” he said.

“All five teams have been completely different – the Tranmere game was a bit of a dogfight, Rochdale they like to play with the ball, at Gillingham we had ten men so that was different, and in the game on Saturday, we had possession and chances but we didn’t take them.

“It’s different coming from Aston Villa U23s – most of those games are possession-based so this is a good learning curve.”

With Saturday’s opponents likely to provide the youngster’s biggest challenge yet, Ramsey is confident Rovers have enough to get a result against Wycombe Wanderers.

“We’ve watched clips of Wycombe – they’re a good side, that’s why they’re third in the league,” he added.

“But I think we’re also a good side so it should be a good game.”
