A win in Monday’s Premier League Cup match vs Exeter City would see Rovers U23s finish top of their group.
Gary McSheffrey’s side have already qualified for the knockout stages of the competition thanks to victories home and away over Portsmouth and Aston Villa, but three points against the Grecians would see them leapfrog the current leaders into the top spot.
Rovers suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat at St James' park earlier in the campaign but Exeter's recent draw with Portsmouth means Rovers have their fate in their own hands.
The match takes place at the Keepmoat Stadium on Monday February 24. Kick-off 7pm.
