Kieran Sadlier says Rovers’ January signings have given the squad a boost as Rovers prepare for the final 13 games of the season.
Darren Moore made four signings in January with Devante Cole, Fejiri Okenabirhie, Jacob Ramsey, and Jason Lokilo arriving in the building in the final week of the transfer window and Sadlier believes the additions have added both strength and depth to the squad.
“We were quite light from the start of the season, but we did well and now we’ve got those numbers it’s even better. We’ve got a good squad and we’re happy with that,” he said.
“Fej and Devante have come in and they’ve both played up top where Niall had been playing mainly – now he can drift out to the left and I can go on the right, and Jon can play there too so it’s given us options. You need that especially if you want to go and do something with the season.
“Fej’s come in and got a couple of goals, and Jacob has a couple of goals on his debut and he did well when he came on the other night so the new lads are good, they’re confident and that’s good for us.”
With a tough run of games until the end of the season, Rovers top scorer says the new players are a welcome addition.
“This run has been tough for everybody and that’s where the additional players and having the strength in depth have come into play,” he added.
“It will be good to get back to Saturday to Saturday and I think we’ve got one Friday and a couple of Tuesday’s before the end of the season.
“That’s obviously good for us, it means we can get more work done in the week. We’re quite detailed the way were train and the video analysis before and after games, so we learn a lot of things in training. I think it’s really beneficial – personally for me, I like that, I want to learn more and I want to improve my game because that’s the career I’m in.”
