Tom Anderson has put pen to paper on a new deal which will keep the defender at Rovers until the summer of 2022.
Since joining the club on loan in January 2018, he has made 61 appearances for Rovers and established himself as one of the league’s top defenders.
“I’m very pleased to complete the deal. I’ve enjoyed it since I came in on loan and I’m really happy to get it done,” he said.
“Ever since I’ve been at the club, I’ve really enjoyed it. I enjoy working with the gaffer and all the coaching staff – I’ve enjoyed everything about being at the club really.
“I’ve worked hard and given my all and thankfully the club have offered me a new contract.”
The 26-year-old believes he has plenty of room for improvement over the next couple of years and feels Darren Moore is the man to help him fulfil his potential.
“The gaffer was a centre-half and played at a very high level so it’s great having someone like that who you can talk to and learn from,” he added.
“I think I’ve got to keep doing what I’m doing – it’s important to keep level headed and keep working hard. It’s no good doing it here and there – it does have to be every time you play, every time you put the training kit on – you have to give 100% every day to make sure you get better.”
