Manager Darren Moore is delighted with the extensions of two key loan deals with both Ben Sheaf and Seny Dieng now signed up until the end of the season.
Both have been regular starters in the Rovers team and Moore has been impressed with their contribution so far this season.
“We’re delighted to have Seny with us until the end of the season. He’s been a very good signing for us,” said Moore.
“One of the biggest components that any player can have is consistency and he is achieving that. He’s showing all the credentials as to why we brought him here and is continuing his personal development.
“Seny has done really well and he gets the plaudits he deserves, some of his displays this season have been very, very impressive. His decision making has been excellent and his distribution has been very, very good as well. He is a very important piece of the jigsaw for us.
“We felt that there was a platform here but it wouldn’t be given to him, he’d have to work for it. He has to keep it going though because he knows there are two other very good goalkeepers who are vying for an opportunity to play.”
Sheaf signed his loan extension on Tuesday and Moore was delighted to have both deals finalised early in the transfer window.
“We’re pleased to have extended Ben’s loan. He’s been superb, we’ve all seen the qualities that he’s brought and he’s been an important part of the team here,” Moore added.
“He’s got wonderful feet and his game understanding is impeccable. He knows exactly what is expected of him. He has grown immensely during his time here and I feel he’ll kick on again.
“I have known him for many years with my work within the U23s teams – I know his game and he’s equally happy in midfield as in defence.
“He just has to keep his consistency going and to get even better than he is now.”
