Moore praises patient Rovers

12 January 2020

Darren Moore felt his side were good value for victory after beating Bristol Rovers in Sky Bet League One.

Goals from Ben Whiteman and Rakish Bingham secured a 2-0 victory for Rovers – their third in a row since the turn of the year.

Moore said: “We felt that we could come here and continue our momentum, and the boys did that with a really good performance.

“We had to stamp our authority on the game early on and one of the most pleasing factors was that we kept going right until the end.

“They got men behind the ball and made it difficult for us but our patience paid off and we took advantage of space opening up.”

The clean sheet at the Memorial Stadium was Rovers’ fourth in their past five games, and Moore says they continue to work on improving at both ends of the pitch.

He added: “We’re working hard to keep things tight at the back and I’ve said for a while that we want to be ruthless in both penalty areas.

“There is a job to do with and without the ball and we continue to strive for improvements heading into the next few games.”
