Moore says focus is on improving every match

10 January 2020

Darren Moore is looking to keep momentum up as his side prepare to travel to Bristol Rovers.

Rovers have taken maximum points in 2020, but despite positive results, Moore feels his side have plenty of improving to do and will need to prove themselves again on Saturday.

“We were really pleased to get the three points in the week, but we have to go again,” said Moore.

“Bristol Rovers have got a new manager with new ideas, so they’ve got a freshness about them. They’ll be difficult opponents because they’ll really want to get that first win under the new manager.

“They are a tough team on their own patch, but our focus has to be on us. We must focus on what we’re trying to do and what we want to do. We know who we are, we just work to get better at it. Driving that improvement is what we’re about. We want to get better at every aspect of the game.”

The manager also had some positive news on the injury front.

“Cameron’s doing really well. He’s joined up with the squad and is available for selection," he added.

“We feel Matty’s nearly there. He’s a naturally fit boy and he’s done really well in his rehabilitation. He’s been back in training with us, he played 45 with the U23s – he did really well in that game – and he’s back in full training with the squad. It’s great to have him back with us.

“To have them back helps because we felt on Tuesday we were down to the bare bones – they have both been a welcome addition to the squad.”
