Darren Drysdale will be the man in charge when Rovers host Southend United at the Keepmoat Stadium on January 28.
It is a month, almost to the day, since Drysdale was due to take charge of Rovers' home match against Sunderland but was replaced late on by Carl Boyeson. Despite this, he has overseen one Rovers match this season as he was the man in charge for Rovers’ Emirates FA Cup victory over AFC Wimbledon at the Cherry Red Records Stadium.
The man from Lincolnshire is an extremely experienced official having taken charge of his first football league match in 2004. He has refereed 24 matches in the current campaign giving out 89 yellow cards and three red.
On Tuesday, Drysdale will be assisted by Oliver Bickle and Barry Gordon. The fourth official will be Geoffrey Liddle.
