Rovers U23s host Aston Villa U23s in the Premier League Cup on Wednesday January 29 knowing a point will be enough for them to claim their place in the last 16 of the competition.
Gary McSheffrey’s side have already beaten the Premier League outfit registering a hard-fought 1-0 victory when they travelled to the midlands in November. Max Watters – who has recently been appearing off the bench for the first team – was the goalscorer on that day.
That win, added to victories over Portsmouth both home and away, mean that a point on Wednesday will mean they join Exeter City in the round of 16, while only a win will do for the young Villans if they want to keep their hopes of leapfrogging Rovers into second place alive.
The match kicks off at 7pm at the Keepmoat Stadium and tickets are free to Silver Membership Holders, or £3 for adults and £1 for concessions. For more information on ticket prices click here.
