Sheaf prepared for Fleetwood Town challenge

31 January 2020

Ben Sheaf believes Saturday’s trip to Fleetwood Town will provide Rovers with a tough challenge.

The Cod Army have an excellent record at Highbury Stadium picking up two thirds of their points on home turf.

“They’ve only lost once at home this season so that just shows how difficult the challenge is going to be,” Sheaf said.

“As the season goes on, games become more and more important and the points become more and more important.

“We know what they’re about, it’s going to be a difficult game away from home but it will be a great game for us and a great challenge. We’re ready to go.”

Rovers’ dramatic 3-2 victory over Fleetwood in August marked the side’s first victory under Darren Moore and Sheaf believes the team have improved a lot since then.

“We’ve developed massively since the last time we played them,” he added.

“We’ve been training together, playing together and it’s obviously going to get better, you know each other a lot better.

“It was a touch game when we played here. It wasn’t easy at all and I think we scored late on.”
