A Doncaster Kicks participant lifted the Yorkshire Cup Esports trophy on Monday night having gone unbeaten throughout the tournament.
Callum, a Doncaster Kicks participant and Club Doncaster Sports College student, was representing Doncaster Rovers in the Yorkshire Cup, and beat Ethan, a Kicks participant from Barnsley, 4-1 in the cup final.
The Yorkshire Cup featured ten participants from five clubs across Yorkshire, with the top two players from the league stage qualifying for the ‘Yorkshire Cup Final’.
Callum faced opponents from Barnsley, Huddersfield, Leeds and Sheffield Wednesday, and managed to maintain his 100% win record throughout the competition.
He said: "I enjoyed participating in the Yorkshire Cup and I thank Mark Cooper for allowing me to represent Doncaster Rovers in this. I've always had a strong passion for fifa as it is virtual football and have always backed myself as being a reasonably good player at the game.
"Going into the Yorkshire Cup I always thought it would be challenging, but I always backed myself in every game and I am very happy finishing it unbeaten."
Callum has just graduated from Club Doncaster Sports College and is interested in a career in coaching.
He added: "I've been at the Sports College for the full two years on the BTEC level 3 course and have enjoyed every bit of it. From being in a sports-based atmosphere in the classroom to getting out and playing for the academy at the college.
"The experience that I have built up over the two years at college alongside the Foundation will massively help me with my future of being within the realms of sports coaching."
