Rovers 2020/21 home shirt - launched by key workers - coming soon...
The 2020/21 home shirt launch will be very different from previous seasons as Rovers look to celebrate the role of NHS staff and other key workers in Doncaster.
On the 72nd birthday of the NHS, the club asked fans to nominate key workers who had been going above and beyond during the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic and selected 11 at random to help up launch the kit from their living rooms. These key workers make up our first XI.
“We wanted to use the 2020/21 kit launch as an opportunity to celebrate the fantastic work of our NHS staff and key workers who have been keeping us safe through the pandemic,” said head of marketing and communications Shaun Lockwood.
“The 11 key workers who are taking part in our launch offer a true representation of Doncaster’s heroes during the pandemic from NHS staff to supermarket workers and delivery drivers.
“You’ll be able to find out a little bit about the jobs they do and why they were nominated throughout the Our First XI campaign and we're looking forward to celebrating the amazing efforts of supporters in our community."
Our first XI received the shirts early in the week and have been filming and taking photos ahead of Friday’s launch as they prepare to share the new home shirt with supporters.
