Jonathan Forte born July 25, 1986
Jonathan was a team-mate of Billy Sharp in Sheffield United’s academy and was for a time thought to have the greater potential of the two.
The speedy forward was a regular member of United’s matchday squad in 2004-05, mostly appearing as a substitute. In August 2005 he joined Rovers on loan, scoring four times in nine appearances, and he returned for a further loan stint in October.
In July 2006 he joined Rovers on what became a full-season loan. He was a member of the team that won the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy at Cardiff, scoring Rovers’ opening goal in the first minute as they went on to beat Bristol Rovers 3-2.
The following season he left Bramall Lane and signed for Scunthorpe United, beginning an odyssey which took him to eight different clubs He retired in 2019 following a knee injury.
His Rovers record was 66 appearances and 13 goals.
