Rovers played their last match of the 2019/20 campaign on March 7, but the Foundation never went away and have been providing social and exercise sessions and health and wellbeing support throughout.
The launch of the Foundation’s Home Goals campaign helped bring the organisation's stay active at home campaign into one place and has gained more than 650 members with hundreds more viewing the videos on the dedicated Home Goals YouTube channel.
The Foundation have also been engaging the people of Doncaster with virtual tours, treks, and challenges. People from across the town have come together (at a distance) to cycle as far as Barcelona, while school children covering 5,581 miles in the school distance challenge and more than 900 of them engaged with the Save Our Sports Week campaign.
Chief operating officer at the Foundation John Davies said: “We have made various steps across our programmes to ensure we could continue to support our community.
"It’s been a hugely challenging time for us all but I’m especially proud of how we’ve been able to adapt our delivery, utilising a variety of digital platforms to continue our work.
“Our community have responded brilliantly, whether that’s been our students continuing their learning online, our parents using resources to home school their children, or our participants engaging with our digital sessions.”
