Club Doncaster has launched the Doncaster Rovers Training Centre a brand-new development programme to better support the development of young footballers across Doncaster.
Working to the same framework as the Doncaster Rovers Academy and boasting top-level coaches including former Rovers player Jan Budtz, the main focus for the training centre is to provide individual development for young footballers in Doncaster but will also provide clear opportunities to progress to the Academy and ultimately first-team football.
Club Doncaster chief executive Gavin Baldwin said: “Our decision to relaunch the programme has been a carefully considered one and one that has required extensive research into how to improve our development programme and ensure it is meeting the needs of the players and Academy alike.
“We have worked directly with the Academy and grassroots clubs to help ensure the new Doncaster Rovers Football Training Centre will provide the best opportunity for local players to progress and reach their full potential.”
Rovers manager Darren Moore added: “This is a really exciting step. We’ve been working really closely on the new model and can’t wait to get started.
“By following the same programme as our Academy players and the quality of coaching that will be received by players in the new Training Centre will mean they are able to realise their full potential whether that is through better performance at your grassroots club or by progressing into the Academy!”
